Whether you're male or female, young or old, you've probably been exposed to promises and slogans such as »10 years younger skin in 2 weeks», «All my stretch marks disappeared«, «My pimples disappeared in a week» or «Revolutionary firming treatment».
Clicking home a wrinkle-free or problem-free skin sounds undeniably very tempting. Perhaps you've tried one or more of these tempting offers without seeing the desired results in the form of finer, healthier skin. Spending time and money on products that don't deliver what they promise can be very frustrating. The reason why you don't get the results you want may lie in the product itself, or that your skin simply needs other active ingredients and treatments than what you have purchased or tried.
BASIC PRINCIPLES IN SKIN CARE:
There are some basic principles when it comes to skin care and what contributes to resilient and healthy skin, and then there are skin problems that for shorter or longer periods need to be addressed with specially adapted active ingredients and treatments to achieve the goal. For most people, this will be skin that appears healthy, fresh and moisturized, with an even skin tone and good resilience, and that is the protective barrier it is meant to be.
CLEAN -
skin that is not clean will not be able to absorb the active ingredients applied, nor will it be able to regenerate while you sleep
VITAMIN A –
There are countless products with different active ingredients, but vitamin A in high enough doses, correctly formulated, is essential for healthy skin. This is the best documented and researched ingredient in skincare.
UV PROTECTION
UV radiation is the single factor that contributes most to aging and skin damage, as much as 80-90 % of aging can be caused by UV radiation. This means that, with the right care, so-called age spots and major loss of resilience and elasticity can be avoided. A high SPF also means a high content of chemical substances, and more «intelligent» sun protection products have gradually emerged with a high content of antioxidants, so you can go lower on the SPF level.
PEELING/EXFOLIATION-
The older you get, the more important it becomes to help the skin with cell renewal through regular use of acidic products that dissolve cell bonds and contribute to new skin cells and moisture in the skin.
Adding mass moisture has long been a mantra in skincare. The fact is that skin becomes lazy if it is only moisturized, it also needs active ingredients that stimulate and initiate the skin's own regeneration processes.
As shown above, the road to healthy skin doesn't have to be very complicated, just make sure you have the right products with the right ingredients! I can help you with this:-)
During a consultation, I will take a look at your skin, find out what you perceive as a problem, what you want to achieve, and in this way we can identify products and any treatments that will help you get the results you want. I set aside plenty of time for such a consultation, where I will inform you about which active ingredients, products and treatments will be relevant to you. Together, we can set up a treatment plan if you wish, with thorough information about the options available. I want you to get the most out of what you invest in your skin, based on what you want, and I emphasize follow-up and good guidance along the way.
If you have problems with acne, I work with a doctor with experience in this area so that you can get the necessary help and follow-up.
