You are largely in control of how your skin looks as the years go by.
The fact that you can actually take control of and influence how fast and how visibly your skin ages can seem challenging, incredible and exciting. The skin is our largest organ, acting both as an external business card that can reveal information about us in terms of age, disease and condition, as well as the first line of defense against harmful external influences.
Skin aging occurs as a result of both external and internal factors. Internal factors refer to heredity and genetics. This is not something we can influence ourselves, but we can with the external factors, such as the products and treatments we expose our skin to, what we put into our bodies and the pollution and UV radiation we expose it to. The latter is actually the factor that can make the skin age at a much faster pace than normal, causing invisible damage at the cellular level, as well as visible signs such as pigmentation, wrinkles, lines, sagging and rough skin texture.
Taking care of your skin is not just a purely cosmetic aspect. As mentioned, the skin is an important barrier against harmful external influences. . The condition of the skin will have a major impact on how effective this defense is. A skin that is nurtured and cared for will be much more able to perform this important task of protecting the body's internal environment, and it is therefore very important that we look after, care for and prioritize our skin.
There is a wide range of products and treatments on the market. There are many products that smell good and feel good on the skin, without necessarily having much effect on your skin. There are also many research-based, well-documented products and treatments that provide visible results and better skin health.
We all want to feel the well-being that comes from having well-functioning and beautiful skin. If you find it difficult to navigate this landscape and would like help and information about what is available and what may be relevant for your skin, I would love to help you! You are welcome to a non-binding consultation with me:-)
