Medical TCA peel

As a certified Environ therapist, I offer Environ's cool peels, developed through research, which treat, protect and nourish the skin, while being gentle yet effective. These acids can be adapted to all skin types and all ages, from the most sensitive to the more coarse robust skin.

There are a number of different substances for use in chemical skin peels.

TCA, Trichloroacetic acid is a synthetically produced acid, which makes it very confident in use. Allergic reactions or serious medical complications have never been described.

The mechanism behind a chemical peel is the dissolution of the bonds that hold the cells in the skin together. Depending on the strength and duration of action, the acid will act on different layers and different cells in the skin.

Environ has developed a TCA Cool Peel System.

The uniqueness of this system is how the acid is produced - in thick cream or gel form, making it easy to apply and providing good control during the peeling procedure itself, with the application of additional layers after assessment.

The philosophy is gentler and more frequent exfoliation rather than deeper and harder for a better, safer result. The uniqueness of Environ's peeling system is the formulation and the combination of low pH and low percentage, which preserves as much as possible of the healthy skin cells in the epidermis while achieving an effective concentration deeper into the skin and stimulating collagen-producing cells through the release of growth factors.

The peeling system is adaptable to all skin types and colors, is cool and painless.

For light peels, there is no downtime, the skin gets more glow and has an anti-inflammatory effect on rosacea/acne skin. For deeper peels, the skin will flake a few days afterwards.

A brush-on treatment will improve skin texture and signs of aging, and will help with acne skin as it is bactericidal and anti-inflammatory. It is recommended to use a cream program in addition and use vitamin A cream 3 weeks in advance for best results.

It will vary from person to person, but most often after the first treatment you will see that the skin is healthier, more even in skin tone and texture.

Does it hurt?

As the name suggests, cool peels are designed to feel cool and gentle on the skin. Depending on the type of peel, some treatments may tingle or sting a little after application, but it is not directly painful.

How many treatments do I need?

This will vary, depending on skin condition and treatment goals. Apart from so-called fresh-up treatments, where the goal is a light refreshment, it is often recommended to do several treatments - often 3-6, for best results.
